This Saturday marks the opening of a special duo exhibition at Gallery Nine. Together with Tineke Bruijnzeels. Esther presents a series of ceramic vase objects in which form, material, and contrast take center stage.
In several works, the ceramic is combined with other materials such as white porcelain and silver. The subtle color contrasts between these materials and the deep black glazed ceramic create a striking visual tension. A fascinating interplay also emerges in the use of form: angular black ceramic structures are set against soft, rounded shapes in silver and porcelain.
This dynamic between hard and soft, dark and light, and structured and round makes the work of Esther Stasse very interesting.
